An open-air festival in a class of its own: for Zürcher Kantonalbank, Gruber & Ianeselli produced the Midsummer Openair, a staff event at the Dolder ice rink and open-air pool. From concept and set design to stage programme and show direction, everything came from under one roof: a summer party in festival format that celebrates a big team and brings the company culture to life.

An open-air festival in a class of its own
Anyone who happened to wander past the Dolder ice rink and open-air pool would never have guessed that the buzzing open-air festival was a staff event.
Around 4,500 Zürcher Kantonalbank employees celebrated themselves and the summer solstice with a first-class line-up at the “Midsummer Openair”, created especially for them, with street food, a styling corner, a pool bar, a silent disco and overnight camping thrown in.
For the festival, Gruber & Ianeselli worked with KMS Team from Munich to develop a dynamic, versatile event identity. The motion designs ran on the festival hub during six months of communication in the run-up to the event, on digital displays at the bank’s locations and, of course, at the Openair itself, where they brought the brand into the space.
“Amazing atmosphere”, “magical setting”, “a new benchmark”: the feedback after the “Midsummer Openair” was every bit as spectacular as the festival itself.
