Event concept development
Every good event starts with an idea strong enough to carry it. Gruber & Ianeselli develops each event concept with a storyline, a budget framework and a delivery plan, and we also offer concept development as a standalone service.

What makes our event concepts different
A concept is not a mood board, it is a basis for decisions: a central idea, a storyline, a venue shortlist, a programme structure and an honest cost framework. You can use it to win people over internally, to put the job out to tender or to go straight into production with us. The concept belongs to you, with no obligation to have us deliver it.
Our approach
- BriefingGoals, audience, parameters. The right questions come first.
- Central ideaThe one thought that carries the whole event.
- DevelopmentStoryline, venues, programme, budget.
- PresentationA document ready for your management team or board to decide on.
How much does an event concept cost?
Standalone concepts start at CHF 4,000 to 12,000, depending on depth. If you then ask us to deliver the event, we credit the concept fee against the production.
When a standalone event concept pays off
Not every project starts from scratch. A professional event concept is especially worthwhile when you need to get budget approved internally, want to compare several agencies or need to test whether an existing idea holds up. In all three cases our event concept gives you a solid foundation: a clear central idea, a realistic cost framework and a running order that even decision-makers with no event experience grasp immediately. A vague intention becomes an event that can be planned, budgeted and signed off, no matter who ends up delivering it. On complex events with many stakeholders in particular, a clean event concept prevents expensive misunderstandings and wasted effort.
FAQFrequently asked questions
Do we own the concept afterwards?
Yes. You receive a complete document ready for decision-making and are free to work with it, including with other partners.
How long does concept development take?
Two to four weeks from briefing to presentation, depending on rounds of feedback and venue research.
Do you also review existing plans?
Yes, as a second opinion with concrete improvements to storyline, budget allocation and risks. It is often the best-value investment in the whole project.
Do we really need a concept, or is a good idea enough?
For a drinks reception, an idea is enough. As soon as message, storyline, budget and several suppliers have to work together, a proper concept saves money in the end, because there is less improvising during set-up.
What exactly goes into an event concept?
Message and objective, storyline and running order, venue and format suggestions, a mood board and a rough budget framework. Enough for your own team or any agency to deliver it properly.
